- There are financial incentives to taking on an apprentice, as part of the Routes
into Work Programme you may be eligible to a £1,000 payment when you employ a young
person who is currently unemployed and if you employ someone aged between 16 and
17 before 31st March 2010 you could be eligible for an employer grant of £2,500.
- Funding is available for training apprentices.
- An apprenticeship can last between 12 months and 3 years and the age range is usually
between 16 and 24.
- There are over 190 different apprenticeships available, there's usually one to cover
most work areas, these range from Leisure, Arts, Business Admin, Engineering, Retail
and Agriculture.

will help the apprentice gain new employment.
